To involve myself with fandom, and writing, again.  I pulled myself out of livejournal for a while because I became so worn out with it all, but lately...  I kind of want to get involved again.  Like running into the high school boyfriend you broke up with because you were going to different schools, you wonder, what if?

As for the writing, well, I'm blaming that all on Heroes.  Seriously, show, for as many times as I want to pull my hair out over you, there are as many times when you fill me with an unholy joy.  I just can't quit you.

So in sum, now that every show is on or preparing for the summer hiatus, I think I'm coming back to fandom.

I believe this could be called ironic.

You know when you're writing your NaNoWriMo novel and you hate every bloody word of it because it's crap and garbage and you know with a bit more time, care, and a whole lot of editing it could be something really great and you just want to start deleting it and start over from scratch1?

First time in three years of NaNo that I've *ever* had this feeling and man, does it ever suck. To anyone who has ever dealt with this before, I am so sorry I did not take your pain seriously.

Because this sucks.

Also, I hate my story, the plot, the fact that my plot keeps mutating, that I have NO IDEA where my story is going, and that I am several thousand words behind.




1 Never before have I ever wanted to edit/rewrite my NaNoWriMo stories, but this year's could be SO MUCH BETTER with a little focus and, oh, maybe a CONSISTENT PLOT!

This is the combined effort of Sunday, Monday, and about thirty minutes this morning.  I'm barely into my story and it's already the 5th day of the month!

Oh self.  I expected so much more than this.

But coming back from the wedding has just exhausted me.  I know I still have to do my 2k words for NaNo--and OMG, it's almost 6 p.m. and I HAVEN'T STARTED YET--but I have to unpack and unwind and make food and get ready for retail hell tomorrow and read because I haven't had a chance to read in 48 hours and I have to watch all of my TV shows from last week--everyone on my flist seemed to love Supernatural--and yeah.  Maybe I should stop bitching and get to those things so I can write?

Three Things Cadman Misses About Atlantis

OK, so NaNoWriMo is only ten short days away and I am so *not* prepared for it. Not only have I just started my outline character background and setting, I have to put together my writing supplies (food), an outline, find time to write, and oh yes, find a job. 

Yes, I am totally aware that these last two items seem like opposites, but if I don't have a paying job in November, I'm going to have to really cut into my writing time to find a job and that's going to be more distracting and counter-productive to my writing than an actual job would be. 

Ten days, four things to do...easy peasy, right?

( At least I know what I need for my NaNo kit... ).

Now I just have to find time in November, assuming I have a full-time job, to write.  I'll be in Boston the weekend of the 31st/1st for a wedding, so I doubt i'll be on at midnight for the kickoff and then I have friends coming in to town the 6th through the 8th.  After that, I think my calendar is cleared until Thanksgiving, which I'm spending with my roommate's family and I *know* they won't be supportive.  (Not that they're mean or anything, just that they won't get it and leave me to write.)

Ten days, four things...yeah.

*Also, I totally went back through what I'd written here and rewrote things by adding in more adjectives, etc.  Gotta start reminding myself to bump up the word count now.*
 

I love to watch the Food channel; it's like kid-friendly pr0n, the whole family can gather 'round and watch Ira mix-up Halloween-themed buttercream frosting (with the afore mentioned five sticks of butter). And now I have this urge to bake something.

Life, you continue to be all kinds of awesome. I really love the Charlie/Dani vibe, although I honestly think I prefer the gen, rather than the het in that relationship.

NCIS, please to continue including Gibb's relatives. They make me smile. And a bit more UST between DiNozzo and Ziva please; I'm not thinking we have enough.

Also, note to self *NaNoWriMo* is in two weeks; have you gotten off your ass yet and oh, I don't know, typed up an outline yet? You might want to get on that.

You know how when you expect things to go a certain way even when you know better and then they don't go the way you expect them to and you're pissed about it, but it's not like part of you didn't expect it to go like that? Yeah.

In other news, Supernatural continues to rock everything. I know I didn't write up anything about last week's episode, but OMG, so good. So very, very good. I want more and now and please.
